The university has in its structure four faculties which constitute the basic scientific and didactic units.
Studies in this Faculty are conducted in two modern technical fields. These are: ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING and ELECTRONICS and COMMUNICATION SYSTEMS. Thanks to long standing experience the Faculty prepares students to work on sea ships in the position of ship electro-automation engineers or ship radio electronics engineers. Studies in this Faculty are conducted in three specializations: MARINE POWER PLANT OPERATION, TECHNOLOGY FOR REPAIRS OF SHIP AND PORT UNITS and OPERATIONAL ENGINEERING. Graduates of the typical marine specialization, that is marine power plant operation, are employed by ship-owners all over the world and they have acquired reputation of high professionalism and high suitability for employment. The Faculty of Navigation educates students in the field of NAVIGATION in the specialization of Maritime Transport and in the field of TRANSPORT in the specialization of Ports and Fleet Operation. The aim of studies in the specialization of Maritime Transport is to prepare highly qualified experts in ship operation in maritime transport. Graduates of this specialization obtain a diploma of the accomplished studies and the degree of master and engineer of marine navigator. After doing the training which is strictly specified by the regulations, they also obtain the diploma of officer and are entitled to hold the officer and managerial posts on ships in the deck department. "Into Modern Times with Tradition” – this motto reflects the almost fifty-year experience of the Faculty and its policy, which takes into account the needs of the innovative economy. The Faculty of Entrepreneurship and Quality Science educates students for onshore jobs in the maritime economy and regional institutions. Its offer includes I-cycle and II-cycle studies in two fields: Commodity Science and Management, a wide spectrum of post diploma studies, and in future, III-cycle studies – doctoral studies.
Since 1998 the Faculty has the right to grant a doctor degree in economic sciences within the scope of commodity science. In compliance with the decision of the Central Commission for Academic Degrees and Titles issued on 17th December 2012, the Faculty obtained full academic rights, which means it is entitled to grant a degree of “doktor habilitowany” in economic sciences within the discipline of commodity science.
